The histories of Arcadia and horse racing are inextricably intertwined. Arcadia’s founding father, Elias Jackson “Lucky” Baldwin bred and raced a number of thoroughbreds under the banner “Santa Anita Stable.”
The Thoroughbred Racing Walk of Champions is a tribute to the horse racing community that has been an integral part of Arcadia history for more than 100 years. The 24″x24″ bronze plaques throughout downtown Arcadia recognize horses, trainers, jockeys, owners, and other individuals who have made significant contributions to California racing.
The Walk of Champions is a project of the Arcadia Historical Society. Selections for the Walk were made by volunteers who worked with the City of Arcadia to bring this new attraction to the community.
